Wander the fields, say hello to the friendly animals, and enjoy a lavender ice cream in the garden. It’s relaxed, beautiful, and surprisingly kid-friendly.
Fairy Forest at Eely Point
Tucked away near the lake, this hidden gem is full of hand-painted fairy doors and a little magic. There’s also a mini pump track nearby that's perfect for junior riders learning to bike. A fun stop for a short adventure and some imaginative play.
National Transport & Toy Museum
Thousands of vintage toys, planes and cars and a dedicated kids’ play area. Great for kids of all ages and a solid indoor option.
Wānaka Dinosaur Park
Right on the lakefront, with swings, slides, climbing gear and that famous dinosaur slide. Check out the ducks or eels down at the jetty and walk along the boardwalk while you're down there. Pack a coffee and enjoy the view while your little one runs wild.
Wānaka Skatepark
The skatepark is perfect for older kids to shred on scooters, skateboards, or bikes. Nearby picnic spots in Pembroke Park make it a full family outing.
Northlake Pump Track And Skatepark
The 120m asphalt pump track at Northlake is designed for bikes, scooters, and skateboards. Right next to it, the skatepark offers a space for older kids and teens to practice their skating skills. Both are part of a larger recreation reserve that includes a multi-purpose court, outdoor gym, and playground, making it a fantastic destination for active families.
Perfect for splash time and swim lessons, the Wānaka Recreation Centre Pool has heated pools, a toddler-friendly splash area, and family changing rooms. Great for rainy days or when kids just need to burn off energy in the water.
Located at 9 McCormick Street, SITE Trampoline offers a unique indoor facility with trampolines, an air bag, skate bowl, and parkour areas.
